Magnet Street Weddings is a well established direct manufacturer of high quality full color wedding products, including invitations, save the date, thank you cards, seals, wedding favors and other wedding accessories.
This site is perfect for you if you want affordable, contemporary designs in a range of formats including layered or pocket and/or if you want innovative wedding products such as Save The Date magnets, Wedding Favor notepads and envelope seals. If you love coordinating items across your whole theme, then this site is great for you too, and they will help you out with custom designs and printing.
This site is not for you if you have a specific paper or printing preference, want very traditional designs, ultra modern designs or complete DIY.
| Site Layout |
Magnet Street Weddings focus exclusively on wedding related invitations, magnets and other wedding accessories. Originating from the larger group of Magnet Street companies, they have sister sites in other areas such as baby, holiday and magnets.
The Top navigation and LH navigation provide options for Save the Date, Invitations, Thankyous, Labels/Seals and Accessories. Within theses there are further filtering options by format (eg magnet, postcard, pocket, flat etc) and related items. The drop down There is also a good help section with FAQs across wording, font and color palettes, pricing and ordering etc. Outside of the categories they have defined, you need to use the site search functionality which proved very effective in finding specific designs (eg Daisy wedding invitations). |
| Design | The designs are produced by -in-house design teams and with a motto of ” Your Wedding Your Way” it will come as no surprise that there are extensive personalization options, as well as a complete bespoke service available.
If you have your own artwork, there is also a small range of Print Ready Artwork designs – you supply the artwork and Magnet Street will put it together for you. All the printing and paper is standard for the complete range and is high quality color printing on linen paper. Originating from a magnet producer shows and their range is extensive – especially in Save The Date, but they have given great care and consideration to the designs in their invitations to provide a good range of themes, colors and styles. |
| Additional Services |
There are some innovative and lovely touches included such as envelope seals, return address labels and favors such as notepads, magnets and postcard which can all coordinate with your theme. |
| Samples | Yes, but not of a selected design. Magnet Street will send you a catalog and samples of up to three items. But, you don’t get to chose the design that you see, the sample is essentially an example to give you a feel for the quality of the printing and paper they use. |
| Ships To | Within the USA and Canada only |
| Process | In your selected design you have all the details relating to it including production time, personalization / customization options (most have font and color palettes options), different formats for the design (eg layered, pocket, flat), pricing and coordinating items available. Then you are ready to personalize. The majority of the designs are personalized using “Design Studio”. The Design Studio opens all the documents required for your order and you can enter the text, change color, font, upload photos etc on the screen. It is a little daunting when it first opens, but you quickly figure out how it works. There is no proof emailed to you with the Design Studio option as you review and approve the proof online after you have created it. This is a very high quality feature and you can have complete control and certainty over the look of your design. It also speeds up the process. If you choose a design that doesn’t use the Design Studio, you will receive a proof within 3 business days. There is room for special instructions for designers and you can call them if there is anything you are concerned about. |
| Price | The invitation range is priced in four main groups, by invitation type : flat, folded, layered and pocket from $170 (for 100) up to $425 (for 100) placing them firmly in the ‘affordable’ category.
There is a complete pricing FAQ which lays out all the pricing for all items, which is a really useful reference. |
| What I Loved | I love the variety of formats available, it provides a great deal of flexibility across invitations, save the date and accessories.
Once I became familiar with it (which took a couple of minutes), I loved the Design Studio. For certainty of layout, positioning, font look, ink color etc, I don’t think you can fault it. Speeding up the ordering process is nice too. The seals – there are over 40 designs and even if you decide to buy your invitations elsewhere, I would come back and get personalized seals from Magnet Street – such a lovely touch. Save the Date magnets, postcard and cards - huge range – over 2000 to choose from – wow! |
| What I Didn’t | As much as I like the Design Studio, you need to have a good internet connection to work with it effectively – just something to be aware of. I think its a shame that you can’t order a sample of particular invitation, but the selection they send is very nice. All printing and paper is completed in the same style – great if you love it, limiting if you don’t. |
| Hot Tip | Magnet Street only release their specials and discount codes to their newsletter subscribers, so its worth getting on board.
They also have inspiration boards and a blog and, my personal favorite, a wedding countdown widget. |
